NOTES:
- In this high tech world we often reach for high-tech solutions when our technology fails, but put your wallet away: Andy and Sean have some decidedly low-tech solutions to some of your high-tech problems.
- Tip #1: You don't have to buy an expensive component cable to hook up your electronics: for short cables, that $5 cable with the red, white and yellow tips works exactly the same. Just remember to match the colours at both ends, and you're golden.
- Tip #2: If you're too far away from your car to lock it with the remote lock dongle on your key ring, try putting the remote up to your head and using your skull as an antenna, before walking all the way back to the car.
- Tip #3: Focus your wireless router's signal with a bit of paper and aluminum foil, using a template you can download from freeantennas.com.
- Tip #4: Use Andy's book (or a pizza box) as a makeshift notebook cooling stand. Just remember to take the pizza out first!
- Tip #5: Use toothpaste and cotton balls to remove minor scratches from your CDs and DVDs, instead of that $30 cleaning solution.
- Tip #6: If you drop your cell phone into the toilet or sink, remove the battery at once, and then submerge the phone into rice!
