NOTES:

- Microsoft Windows Operating System: graphical user interface environment that consumers utiltize to run applications, such as Adobe Photoshop. There are many different types of operating systems, such as Apple OS X and Linux-based systems such as Ubuntu. The current version of Apple's operating system is OS X 10.5, aka "Leopard". It's based on OpenBSD, which has similarities with Linux. Linux is an open-source operating system, meaning all the program code is available to anyone. The first operating system many remember is MS-DOS, which is Microsoft Disk Operating System.

- Versions of Microsoft Windows to date: (1)Windows 1.0, (2)Windows 2.0, (3)Windows 3.0, (4)Windows 95, (5)Windows 98, (6)Windows ME, (7)Windows 2000, (8)Windows XP, (9)Windows Vista, (10) Windows 7 (upcoming)

- For more information on Windows 7 visit Paul Thurrott's WinSuperSite at http://www.winsupersite.com/Default.asp.
