Show Notes - Episode 150
SERIES: Lab Rats
EPISODE #: 150
RELEASE DATE: December 8, 2008
TITLE: RAW Rah Rah: Why shoot your photos in RAW mode?
RUN TIME: 18:40
HOSTS: Andy Walker and Sean Carruthers
STUDIO DIRECTOR: Matt Harris
EDITOR: Matt Harris
SOURCE: www.labrats.tv/episodes/ep150.html
NOTES:
- RAW - is an unprocessed photograph, similar to a lossless format in audio, where you won't lose any data. The downside to RAW is each photograph's file size tends to be large; therefore it takes a longer period of time to write all the data to the memory card, hence longer time between shooting.
- The Canon Digital Rebel and the Nikon D40 are good low-cost SLRs.
- Check out episode 50 where we discussed digital SLR cameras in detail.
- GEEK ALERT: GIF is an older picture format. GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format.
- You can use Adobe Camera RAW to change the image without destroying the original.
- The "buffer" is memory inside the camera to hold information while processing previous information.
- Download of the Week: Schmap Player 2.0 = FREE.
- If you're on Facebook don't forget to join the Biff and Boo Fan Club.
