NOTES:
- Nathan C: Do you think it's safe to purchase a Apple iPhone 3G at this point? Relatively safe to purchase at this point. FYI - Actually, there has been a recall of the USB charger - exchange your's at any Apple store or by mail ASAP. For more informaiton on this recall visit: http://www.apple.com/support/usbadapter/exchangeprogram/?sr=hotnews?sr=hotnews.rss.
- Alex: Do you know any information on the wireless standards such as B, G, and N? Wi-Fi is short-range wireless connections to the Internet. There are three flavors of Wi-Fi, 802.11b = 11Mbps, 802.11g = 54 Mbps, and 802.11n = 280+ Mbps. Also, 802.11a is out there, but it's very rare and incompatible with 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n. Some chipsets have 802.11n built-in, such as the Intel Centrino 2 that was discussed in episode 132.
- Jason E: Purchasing a new Apple iPod Touch, can I still use my music purchases from another music service? Yes, you can use those music files on your iPod Touch as long as there unprotected (or DRM-Free) files. For more informaiton on "jailbreaking" your iPod Touch or iPhone watch episode 108. "Jailbreaking" is a third-party hack that is not an official Apple process. A "hack" or unauthorized modification is not always illegal, but it usually voids your warranty. Check out the Apple iTunes Application Store where you maybe able to purchase or download for free the application with a feature your looking for.
- Chuck: How does binary actually work on the computer? What does it do, details? Everything a computer does is completed using binary. Binary is simply a bunch of zeros and ones. Binary is also known as Base 2. As humans we use Base 10, or 0 through 9. Learn more about binary at http://www.tinyurl.com/binaryfun.
